Pollution and energy consumption both are reduced when tires are recycled which is one of the many benefits of the tire soles used on our footwear. Using recycled rubber tires means that millions of scrap tires are no longer dumped in landfills which in most cases catch fire over time. Tire fires are more problematic than other fires because the pollution from tire fires contaminate the water supply and soil in surrounding areas; so the damage lasts for years to come.
